Railway Budget 2016 Highlights
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu presented the Rail Budget 2016-17 in the Lok Sabha on 25th February , 2015.Railway Minister in his first Rail budget announced a record investment plan of over 1 Lakh crore in 2015-16 while sparing the passenger of a fare hike .Railway Minister also proposed a number of steps to increase passenger amenities. Mr. Suresh Prabhu in his previous budget (2015) for the Indian Railway promised to0 balance passenger needs and long-term interests of the organisation and benchmark it globally on quality, safety and reach. In words of Railway Minister, there will be no hike in passenger fare and focus will be on improving passenger amenities, including cleanliness.
